The Jolly Judge sits at the foot of a vennel, at the centre of one of Edinburgh's historic Old Town, a mere 2 minutes walk from the Castle.

What is unique about the Jolly Judge is hard to define, but I don't think I have ever been in a pub quite like it. It might be the relaxed atmosphere, the lack of music or the fact that it is a place where people just come to chat, catch up with friends or use as a base before discovering the many other attractions of Scotland's Capital.
